At Swanstant, he builds and applies climate-economic intelligence to help organisations anticipate near-term disruption, build proactive playbooks, and prioritise investments with the highest expected P&L impact. His work spans Predictive Climate Intelligence (PCI) - translating climate and macro signals into 1–6-month operational and financial foresight with confidence bands for supply-chain-intensive businesses - and Competitive & Transition Benchmarking that clarifies where value is being created or eroded relative to peers.
PCI has shown early validation: MVP tests on natural rubber production in Indonesia achieved 71% six-month directional accuracy, indicating that climate-sensitive operational impacts can be anticipated with enough lead time to act.
Previously, François initiated and led Make Fashion Circular at the Ellen MacArthur Foundation (2018–2021), driving system-level innovation with partners including H&M and HSBC. He helped build frameworks such as The Jeans Redesign, which scaled to 100+ participating organisations globally.
His work and insights have been cited in Vogue Business, Business of Fashion, The Guardian, and Sourcing Journal. He mentors emerging brands with the British Fashion Council and serves on the SMEP (Sustainable Manufacturing and Environmental Pollution Programme) Independent Technical Advisory Panel.

Ian was editorial lead of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation until 2022, overseeing the publication of >20 groundbreaking reports on the circular economy. He was previously a researcher at McKinsey, focussing on climate change and providing analysis for projects on strategy, regulation, and finance. His background is in economics.
